Incredible drive of a 28-year-old Hungarian on the A1 in Upper Austria: the reckless speed demon drove at a speed of up to 235 kilometers per hour. And: He drove at almost two per thousand.
Around 10:45 a.m. on Christmas Day, a motorist reported an aggressive driver on the A1 to the police via an emergency call. A civilian patrol from the Upper Austrian regional traffic service took part in the search and finally found the car in question in the Eberstalzell area around 11:11 a.m. The officials immediately gave chase, but the driver continued at very high speed in the direction of Linz/Vienna.
Difficult pursuit
Despite the powerful police car, the pursuit was difficult because the driver continued to drive in the left lane at a speed of 235 km/h (video recording – calibrated speedometer). He pushed several drivers in front of him and even tried to overtake a car on the third lane.
Residence ban in Austria
The speeder was eventually stopped at “Puckinger Berg” and subjected to a driver and vehicle check. It was soon established that the 28-year-old Hungarian was under the influence of alcohol. An alcohol test performed on him showed a value of 1.96 promille. But that’s not all: the official act also showed that the passenger was banned from staying. He was arrested and transferred to the police detention center in Wels.
