“New mobilization” – Kiev now warns Russians: Putin closes borders

Date:

According to Ukrainian sources, Russian President Vladimir Putin is preparing a new wave of mobilization in his country. He also plans to close the borders. “I’m sure Russia has about a week left,” Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov warned in a speech to the Russian people (see video above).

“In early January, the Russian authorities will close the borders to people, declare martial law and launch a new wave of mobilization. The borders will also be closed in Belarus,” Resnikov stressed. According to him, this time the new mobilization should also affect “the residents of major Russian cities”.

Russia better prepared now?
As early as November, the Russian opposition medium “Verstka” reported on a planned second wave of mobilization in January, citing Kremlin insiders. According to the Kremlin, the Kremlin assumes that the conscription offices will be much better prepared than during the first wave. According to the report, they would also have precise lists of the people to be mobilized.

Already in September, Putin announced the first partial mobilization in the country
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization on September 21. The goal was to call up 300,000 conscripts. Tens of thousands of people then tried to leave the country. At the time, Putin stressed that only people up to 35 years of age with military experience would be called up. However, older men with no combat experience and health problems were reportedly also called up. At the end of October, Russia declared the mobilization over.

Kiev: Moscow has lost its clout for years
According to Reznikov, the Russian army lost its effectiveness for years because of the losses in Ukraine. He estimates that the Russian armed forces will take at least five years to rebuild. “According to the findings of NATO reconnaissance, the Russians have suffered huge losses in terms of tanks, artillery, armored personnel carriers and soldiers,” Reznikov told “Ukrayinska Pravda”. “The regular armed forces of the Russian Federation can be restored in five years at the earliest, maybe in ten years,” the minister said. The same goes for Russia’s missile potential. After all, this is a war of resources. “And they (NATO) can calculate those resources.”

Resnikov gave no information about his own armed forces. Both sides have already suffered heavy casualties since Russian troops invaded Ukraine in February. According to the Ukrainian report, the Russian army has already claimed more than 100,000 casualties. The information cannot be independently verified.
