The background to the police action, according to the information, included attacks with fireworks on rescue and security forces. In one case, paramedics would have been forced to retreat from the scene of an accident. They were attacked with fireworks in the Brussels municipality of Sint-Gillis after unsuccessfully trying to resuscitate a person who had fallen out of a window.
Cars, scooters on fire
According to the fire brigade in Brussels, cars, electric scooters and waste containers have also been deliberately set on fire in various places in the city. According to a provisional balance, 26 vehicles and about twenty scooters were affected.
