It’s getting expensive – accident drivers are now showing ads in the house

Date:

Last fall, the car of an extremely risky driver was thrown onto the train tracks in Bregenz. The man got out and just got out of his car – without reporting to the railway or the police. His ruthlessness is now costing him dear.

Two advertisements are being sent to the German train driver who attempted a failed drift maneuver in Bregenz last September and eventually came to a stop on the train tracks. He simply left the car and fled – without reporting the source of the danger. This is now having consequences: according to ORF Vorarlberg, the driver did not appear for police questioning and was therefore reported to the district authority for hitting the road and to the prosecutor’s office in Feldkirch for endangering physical safety.

The crash caused quite a stir in September: the German and three passengers, coming from Montfortstraße and driving in the direction of Lochau, were driving at high speed. Due to a failed drift maneuver, the driver skidded off the vehicle and slid for over 100 meters along Seestrasse.

Escape to the city center
It entered the oncoming carriageway, drove onto the sidewalk, broke through a trackside beech hedge, then came to rest on the track. According to witnesses, all four occupants fled to the center of Bregenz via Seestraße and left the vehicle unattended on the track – and without any notification to ÖBB or the police.

Due to the standstill of the vehicle on the track and the high-voltage line above it, the rescue teams eventually had to stop all train traffic and cut through the live line to recover the vehicle with a recovery crane.
