Tragic development in the New Year’s Eve murder case in Vienna’s 22nd district, Donaustadt. As the “Krone” learned, the murder victim is the former president of the Austrian chamber of pharmacists, Heinrich Burggasser. The 74-year-old was found dead in his home on Quadenstrasse on New Year’s Day.
Burggasser was the head of Alpha Pharmacy, which is also in the house where the 74-year-old lived. However, the circumstances of his death remain a mystery and the investigation is ongoing.

The 74-year-old spent New Year’s Eve with friends and celebrated the New Year. According to their information, the last contact was at 0:30 am. After that, however, the pensioner could no longer be reached. Shortly before noon, the friends searched and found the man’s body. They called the police around 11:40 am.
Police cited the cause of death as blunt trauma, but there were no signs of a break-in at the home. The Viennese detective has started the investigation.
