On New Year’s Day at noon, a traffic accident occurred on the Styrian B320 near Michaelaberg-Pruggern (Liezen district). A man was seriously injured.
A 71-year-old drove his car towards Schladming around 11:30 am. For unknown reasons, the driver ended up in the oncoming lane at the height of the Pruggern ramp. The man’s car collided with an oncoming tow truck driven by a 60-year-old man.
Firefighters (Gröbming, Pruggern, Stein an der Enns) had to free the man trapped in the vehicle with rescue scissors. The tow truck driver suffered minor injuries. Rescue workers and an ambulance helped those involved in the accident. The seriously injured 71-year-old was taken to DKH Schladming. The B320 was closed to traffic for about an hour.
