A tragic accident happened on the Frauenkogel in Styria on Tuesday afternoon. A Romanian forest worker could only be found dead by his colleagues.
The 49-year-old was clearing broken branches and trees on steep terrain. Two other forest workers were waiting for the green light to use the crane, but their colleague refused.
They went to him and found him trapped under a stump of carrots. This should have come loose and hit him with full force. The workers called the emergency doctor, who alone was able to determine the death of the Romanian.
The corpse was difficult to recover and was only possible with the help of the Graz Mountain Rescue Service, the Alpine Police and 20 firefighters in Judendorf.
