All fire brigades from Flattach to Winklern are currently on duty in Stall im Mölltal: a farm is completely on fire. Neighbors saved the cattle and laid the first fire line.
In the Schwersberg district in the municipality of Stall im Mölltal, a large barn caught fire on Wednesday evening. “The neighbors saved the cattle and immediately laid the first fire extinguishing line. Up there everyone knows where the hydrant is and where the hose box is – and you can do that kind of first aid on the mountain,” says Richard Pichler, the fire chief. “The house could be protected this way.”
Seven barrages are deployed under the leadership of Tobias Oberdorfer, the commander of the FF Stall. “It’s a huge building that’s full of volume there. We already had to set up a shuttle service,” says Pichler. Tank trucks drive to Latzendorf to refuel there and bring the fire extinguishing water back to Schwersberg.
