Bullying over a cake ended in the Mostviertel with multiple injuries. A polterer group now had to answer to the court for assault. The men received fines and suspended prison sentences.
At the end of May, a sweet temptation finally ended in a serious quarrel. For while walking through Ybbs town centre, a “well-fed” party, it was reported, accidentally ran into two women who were “armed” with a cake on their way to a party. The group of men, aged between 39 and 52, began harassing the mother and her 27-year-old pregnant daughter. In such distress, the two cried for help. Father and sister immediately came to the rescue from the apartment above.
Police and rescue service alerted
Fists flew after wild insults. The 57-year-old received blows including a broken rib, and the 31-year-old daughter suffered bruises in the head and chest area. For her pregnant sister it was a kick in the stomach. Passersby came to her aid and prevented worse. “They attacked us for no reason. Why did the men do this to us?” the mother still wonders today. The party animals were fined, the two main perpetrators 18 and 12 months in prison.
