Actor and audience favorite Florian Teichtmeister will appear in court on February 8. No fewer than 58,000 child pornographic videos and photos were found on the 43-year-old. He confesses.
The disappointment of many TV viewers was great when “Die Toten von Salzburg” took place without Major Peter Palfinger on January 6. According to the script, the Inspector was on the mend and was not on screen until the final scene. The real reason has been known since Friday: public favorite Florian Teichtmeister is accused of possessing child pornography!
The criminal charge against the actor gives you goosebumps: a house search found 58,000 media files on 22 data carriers, 13 external hard drives, USB sticks and memory cards with the most disgusting material were seized. According to the prosecutor, Teichtmeister collected the horrors between February 2008 and August 2021.
Teichtmeister now faces a two-year prison sentence
The mime’s ex-girlfriend got the ball rolling. As early as October 2021, the “Krone” reported that an award-winning actor is under investigation for assault, drug abuse and possession of child pornography, among other things. Because of the latter, the 43-year-old is now in court. Hearings will take place on February 8 at the Vienna Regional Court. It is very possible that the public will quickly be shut out because of the gruesome details.
The TV star risks a prison sentence of up to two years. Philipp Wolm and Michael Rami are the lawyers of the former public favorite: “Florian Teichtmeister will plead guilty in the main proceedings. He confessed throughout the investigation and always cooperated with the authorities,” says Rami, who emphasizes that “he is accused of a purely ‘digital’ crime, which means that he has not committed any criminal offenses against people.”
Teichtmeister “fired with immediate effect”
Whatever the outcome of the court hearing, the Viennese’s steep stage, TV and film career is over: The Burgtheater separates with immediate effect from the actor currently on stage in the play “Next door”: ” It is with great horror that we will learn about the results of the investigation and the upcoming criminal proceedings against Florian Teichtmeister,” explains director Martin Kušej. Teichtmeister was “fired with immediate effect”.
The ORF also reacted quickly: no productions with Florian Teichtmeister would be filmed or broadcast until the judicial clarification.
The Oscar race is over for “Corsage”.
The case is especially bitter for director Marie Kreutzer and her Sisi film “Corsage,” in which Teichtmeister plays the leading role of Emperor Franz Joseph. The chance to be in the top 5 best foreign films at the Oscars on January 24 is gone. Given the indictment, there will almost certainly be no nomination by the Academy.
