For five years, the Parliament on the Wiener Ring has been renovated from the ground up and updated with the latest technology. After the ceremonial opening on Thursday, citizens can take a look at the newly decorated halls of the building this weekend. And the interest was huge, as was the length of the line of people.
The renovated parliament can be explored on Saturdays and Sundays on a guided tour – such as the Meeting rooms of the National Council, the Federal Council and the Federal Assembly, as well as the offices of the Presidents of the National Council and the Federal Council. Furthermore, under the newly built glass dome, the column hall and the plenary assembly can be visited, as well as the library and the new visitor center “Democratic Center – Experience the Parliament”.
The crowds were already huge on Saturday. Countless people wanted to take a look at the newly installed parliament. The queue of interested people was hundreds of meters long around Saturday afternoon, according to photos on the site.
Open until 5pm, last entry is at 4pm. From 10am to 5pm you also have the opportunity to visit the Parliament again on Sunday – no registration required.
We raffle 50 x 2 guided tours including a consumption voucher. Read here how you can participate and win!
