Sometimes it would make sense to question the information provided by a navigation system. That’s what the three occupants of a car probably thought on Thursday evening after their car got stuck in deep snow on a cross-country ski run in Lech am Arlberg (Vorarlberg).
The 30-year-old driver was on his way from the center of Lech to the Omesberg plot at around 0.45 am. The Vorarlberger from the Rhine Valley used his navigation system to find his way. He trusted it blindly, even when it led him to a cross-country ski run near the Omesberg lot.
The 30-year-old tried a full 15 meters to find the right way around the course. Then nothing worked. The car got stuck in deep snow, the three occupants had to alert the emergency services. The car was eventually removed from the snow by the Lech fire brigade.
