Trial in Innsbruck – scandal in the hunting ground for large Tyrolean entrepreneurs

Date:

A 56-year-old stepped on the accelerator when a gamekeeper tried to stop him in a foreign hunting area in the Kufstein district of Tyrol. Now the Unterländer had to answer for coercion at the court of Innsbruck.

It all started with a little odyssey when the accused 56-year-old wanted to drive home at dusk. A vehicle blocked the forest path, so the Unterlander turned and twice passed the hunting tenant and a companion who were walking in the strange area. “I was stunned because someone else’s vehicle has no place here – especially in the evenings,” the hunting tenant said as a witness. He is known to be very concerned about the tranquility of the game on two nearby pastures. In his position, he can even check cars for weapons – keyword poachers.

In this case, however, it was different: “I made myself known with a show of hands. When I got into the middle of the track, the driver accelerated.” It wasn’t a saving jump to the side, but he had to pull away quickly to avoid being run over. His companion confirmed this. The men wrote down the license plate number, a display and the ongoing process followed. Charge against the driver: coercion.

“Nothing noticed” – then the defendant admitted
The big businessman initially denied in court that he had even noticed the attempts to stop him. This was not very credible given the testimonials. The judge eventually granted the 56-year-old and his lawyer ten minutes to think over and promised distraction (fine without penalty). But you have to take responsibility for that, you can’t completely deny what happened. That concession was made and the judge imposed a diversionary maneuver with a fine of 7,000 euros. Payment in installments is not necessary…
