Gabon’s foreign minister, Michael Moussa Adamo, died on Friday after suffering a heart attack just before a cabinet meeting. Specialists have tried in vain to resuscitate him, the Central African country’s government said.
A source close to the presidential palace told AFP that Moussa Adamo sat down feeling unwell just before the cabinet meeting started.
“Great Diplomat”
The 62-year-old was taken unconscious to a military hospital and died in the afternoon. President Ali Bongo Ondimba described Moussa Adamo on Twitter as a “great diplomat” and “true statesman”. He also spoke of a “great loss for Gabon”.
