On Sunday evening, Czech police chased a car with Austrian registration plates across the border into the Mühlviertel, because the driver had ignored several attempts to stop due to mass speeding. The escape ended abruptly…
The journey went from Studanky (Kaltenbrunn) to Bad Leonfelden via the Weigetschlag border crossing in Mühlviertel, where the fugitive ran his car off the road, drove 200 meters across a meadow and finally stopped in a garden.
Hidden by hut
The 30-year-old from Salzburg jumped out of the car and ran. A service dog patrol that happened to be present rushed to the aid of the Czech uniformed officers and immediately began chasing them. In his escape, the man from Pongau fell into a pond covered with ice and snow, from which he himself got out and hid at a hut. His wallet was also found nearby.
No driver’s license and drug test denied
After a brief resistance, Czech and Austrian police officers stopped the man. He did not have a driver’s license and refused to be checked for narcotics after a negative breathalyzer test. The 30-year-old suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital in hypothermia. He is shown.
