An 18-year-old accelerated to 150 km/h in the city area, ignored red traffic lights and at least accepted injuries to a police officer on Monday night in Vienna. The boy had ignored the executive’s arrest attempts and tried to escape the officers. The escape ended in a serious accident.
The 18-year-old would be apprehended around 1:45 a.m. on Kaiserstrasse in the Neubau district. However, when the young driver noticed the officers, he stepped on the accelerator and accelerated his Mercedes.
First stopped the car and then ran towards the police officer
According to the police, he reached speeds of up to 150 km/h when he fled from the police. During his daring escape, he didn’t even bother with red lights. A police officer standing in the road to stop the driver had to jump in front of the car to get himself to safety. The 18-year-old had initially signaled insight and stopped the car, but then accelerated again.
The chase eventually led to the Alsergrund district. At the intersection with Liechtensteinstrasse, the suspect caused an accident and rammed three parked cars. The 18-year-old was arrested – the reason for his hasty and dangerous escape was quickly clarified: he no longer has a driver’s license.
