The Basque Government’s Housing Department will do this 7,000 new subsidized homes (VPO) in regime of rent available to citizens (half for young people) over the next four years, as announced by sector advisor Denis Itxaso.
Last Wednesday, Itxaso participated in the meeting of the Social Pact for Housing, which brings together institutions, social organizations and organizations from the third sector and private companies from the world of promotion and construction. During the meeting, chaired by the Lehendakari, he put forward a number of initiatives for this term, including greater promotion of public rental housing, especially aimed at youth.
CurrentlyAs indicated by the director of the Basque Housing Observatory, Mario Yoldi, the Basque government has done so 2742 homes affordable rental housing, and has urged the reserves must increase for which he has requested a “greater involvement” of the municipal councils.
