In Torfhaus in Germany, a spectacular police action and scenes were ready for film on Saturday. In the early morning hours, initially unknown perpetrators detonated an ATM with an unknown substance. The trio then fled the scene. The men stopped the car of a passing woman and continued the escape with the witness as a hostage.
As part of the searches initiated jointly by the police forces of the Braunschweig and Göttingen police forces, the Ford was subsequently stopped and three suspects were provisionally arrested. The woman was unharmed and is doing well. No one was injured in the arrest.
The damage to the ATM and the adjacent building is considerable. The amount of stolen money has not yet been determined.
In consultation with the investigating public prosecutor in Osnabrück, possible reasons for detention are now being examined.
