President Joe Biden has announced the decision, following Germany’s position change, which has approved the shipment of its Leopard 2 cars. The shipment will take several months.

The President of the United States, Joe Bidenannounced that his administration will send 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraineas part of the weapons supplied by NATO to the Ukrainian army.
The shipment will be accompanied by other measures, such as the training of Ukrainian troops, with the aim of “improving their ability to maneuver in the open field” and their long-term military capabilities.
Biden used his press conference to thank the German chancellor, Olaf Scholtz, who shipped their tanks to Ukraine. “Germany has lived up to it. The chancellor has defended unity at all times,” he added.
“It is not an offensive threat to Russia,” Biden added. The US leader has spoken to Scholz by phone; the president of France, Emmanuel Macronand the Prime Ministers of Italy and the United Kingdom, Georgia Meloni Y Rishi Sunak.
