In desperation, a 30-year-old from Stadl-Paura in Upper Austria sounded the alarm because his inheritance was gone. His girlfriend may have accidentally thrown the money in the garbage. But then it turned into a thriller.
“We don’t know what to do! My girlfriend cleared out a box last week and threw everything away because she needed space for the baby stuff. She also threw a bag with the residual waste that contained 25,000 to 30,000 euros – everything I had saved and what my father, who passed away two weeks ago, inherited from me. Unfortunately, we only realized on Tuesday that there was no more money. At the garbage collection they said there was no chance of getting it back. Our baby is only three or four months old. Our new apartment is moldy. We don’t know how to find a new one now. Besides, my mother has cancer.” A 30-year-old from Stadl-Paura described his suspected breakdown on the phone of “Krone” on Wednesday morning.
Reporting to the police is allowed
It sounded a bit strange, but the investigation showed that the young family man had actually reported the accident to the Lambach police and had already reported his accident to the local waste collection point and the municipal office. At noon he called again: “It could have been very different. The police are now investigating the theft. But we don’t know exactly what will come out yet.”
The alleged accident may have become a criminal case. The executive branch is keeping a low profile for now. It will be investigated
