Good memory – 73-year-old memorized 3000 birthdays

Date:

Dennis Garsjo from Glasgow, Montana, does not refer to the residents by name, but by date of birth. He has memorized 3000 birthdays so far.

How many times have you forgotten a friend’s birthday? Without help like address books or Facebook, many of us would be hopelessly stuck. But Dennis Garsjo from Glasgow doesn’t have that problem. The 73-year-old estimates that he knows the birthdays of 3,000 of the 3,202 residents by heart. “It all started with an empty calendar. I sat down and wrote down about 1700 names of ‘neighbors’ whose birthdays I already knew. Since then more have been added.”

Guinness did not approve the record
For the “Guinness Book of Records” he recorded a video in which he was asked the birthdays of 2300 people. But Guinness refused to approve the record: on the one hand because there is no competition and on the other hand because the jury wanted proof of the correctness of the birthdays. “I’m too lazy to collect 3,000 birth records, so I’m happy to forfeit a record title.”
