Two young Syrians allegedly attacked a 17-year-old in Wels (Upper Austria) with a knife after he had a public argument with his girlfriend. The victim was lucky, no internal organs were injured.
Due to a scuffle, several patrols were sent to Kaiser-Josef-Platz in Wels at 12:25 p.m. on Friday. When the police arrived on the scene, it became known that all those involved were already on their way to Bahnhofstrasse. The main victim, a 17-year-old from Wels, and three witnesses were found there.
All stated that the 17-year-old had a fight with a friend and then was suddenly attacked by two unknown youths. One of the attackers headbutted the 17-year-old and the other stabbed him in the back with a knife.

A suspect, a 17-year-old Syrian from Wels, was found at the scene and clearly identified by the victim. He had been arrested. The murder weapon – the knife – was secured from a bus driver who witnessed the attack. The second suspect, a 15-year-old Syrian from Wels, was arrested a little later in an asylum seekers center.
The 17-year-old victim was taken to the Wels Clinic after first aid. The young man suffered a stab wound in the area of his left shoulder, which fortunately is not life-threatening.
