A pensioner’s application for an anti-inflation bonus was coldly rejected because it was above the income limit. This is not an isolated case. The country is getting better now.
There is (for now) no support from the state in the form of an anti-inflation bonus for a Burgenland pensioner. As evidenced by an application filed with the “Krone”, the single woman applied to the state for the bonus in September of the previous year. But this was decided negatively. The reason: Your stated income is three cents too high! The directive sets a limit of 1200 euros. However, the lady stated an income of 1200.03 euros.
Employees asked for a re-examination
The pensioner then turned to the city of Eisenstadt in the hope of gaining support there. The employees then noticed that the application to the state was rejected because of the small overrun, according to the town hall.
Since the good woman was completely desperate, the staff contacted the country. with a request to reconsider the matter. That may have happened, but it didn’t change anything. The association “Eisenstadt helps” then intervened and offered the woman support.
The country is getting better now
It should not be an isolated case. When asked by the “Krone”, the state announced on Friday that it would be tightened: “During the processing, we found that some applications are only very small amounts above the respective income limits. To accommodate these cases of hardship, we have decided to retroactively grant a subsidy of 300 euros if the income limit is exceeded by a maximum of 50 euros,” said Governor Hans Peter Doskozil (SPÖ). More than 100 people are likely to be affected.
