Fell on fence – impaled victim likely to recover

Date:

A 39-year-old from Wallern was caught in a fence post in the back after falling while cutting down a tree in St. Marienkirchen an der Polsenz in Upper Austria. After the operation in the Welser Klinikum, the victim can speak again.

“I’m glad he’s on the mend and I wish him all the best for his recovery.” community, and of course the affected family knows about it. The fact that the seriously injured 39-year-old, who fell five meters backwards on Saturday afternoon on a wire mesh fence post and was impaled under his chest, was already out of acute danger on Sunday borders on a small miracle.

Post cut with flex
It is known that rescuers had cut the pole with pliers before the fire brigade arrived. The 39-year-old, who lives in Wallern and had helped his father (83) cut branches, was taken to the Wels clinic with the foreign body in his body. There, spokeswoman Renate Gruber was cautiously optimistic after the successful emergency operation on Sunday: “The patient is stable, but he is currently still being cared for in intensive care.”

Apparently no organs injured
Apparently, the pole hadn’t hit any vital organs or major blood vessels. The patient, who is active in the parish in his home community, is already approachable. He should be fine except for a scar. It was important that the injured person was taken to the hospital with the pole in the body: “Improper removal could have caused more damage.”
