A 55-year-old skier had to be taken by helicopter to the state hospital in Feldkirch in Vorarlberg on Monday afternoon. Shortly before the valley station of the Trittalpbahn, the winter sports enthusiast lost control of his skis and fell into a stream bed.
The 55-year-old was on the Schüttboden-Zürs piste towards the valley station of the Trittalpbahn around 2 p.m. when he went over the edge of the piste on the ski bridge there. He broke through the fence on both sides of the bridge and fell about five meters deep into the stream bed of the Pazüelsbach. There he lay motionless in the water.

The injured man’s sister, who was traveling with him, immediately alerted the emergency services. The 55-year-old was rescued and provided first aid by the track rescue service and the crew of the emergency helicopter. He was then flown to the state hospital in Feldkirch with serious injuries.
