Spectacular traffic accident on Thursday evening in Voitsberg in Styria: A 49-year-old driver collided with a curb on the L 315, after which the vehicle overturned and came to rest on its side. The injured occupants had to be removed from the wreckage by the fire service.
It was around 9:20 p.m. when a 49-year-old from Voitsberg and his 41-year-old passenger drove on the L 315 towards Geistthal. The increased speed may have caused the driver to suddenly veer off the rain-soaked road. The vehicle skidded on the shoulder of the road and hit a curb with a front tire. The car then overturned and only came to rest a few meters later lying on the driver’s side.
Both occupants injured
Fortunately, the two occupants were freed from the vehicle by the volunteer fire brigade Södingberg and Stallhofen. After first aid, they were transferred to the UKH and LKH Graz. Both suffered injuries of unknown severity. It was not possible to carry out an alcohol test on site. The Graz prosecutor’s office ordered an evaluation of the blood.
