The Gipuzkoan Business Association for the carriage of goods by road, gutranswarned that the heavy vehicle tolls on the N-1 and A-15 is “implausible” and if “100% of these costs are not passed on to the shipping companies” they will “close all transport companies in Gipuzkoa”.

Guitrans recalled in a statement that the N-1 and A-15 are two “fundamental” highways of the road network from the point of view of communication, since “they connect us to Europe, to the Meseta and to the Mediterranean through Navarre”.

He has also emphasized the economic aspect as “much of Gipuzkoa’s intensive industry is located along this arterymaking these routes a backbone of the corporate fabric”.

They confirmed that from Guitrans “The one who is really discriminated against with this toll on these two roads is the Gipuzkoan carrier”which should use “inevitably” “constantly without there being any alternative”.

According to him, the third Provincial toll regulation, which was the last to come into effect January 23“It only confirms this discrimination”, as the companies that make internal routes with heavy vehicles “will pay between 0.21 and 0.28 euros per kilometer for practically all the kilometers they make in their daily work”.

For example, he gave as an example a carrier traveling through the NI from the link Astigarraga to Olaberria “traveling 40.94 km, eight times a day, a common case, depending on the vehicle’s environmental type will pay between 1500 and 2000 euros per month“.

For its part, the National Federation of Transport Associations of Spain, phenadismeralso canceled two weeks ago the “brutal and disproportionate increase” of the amount for driving through this area.
