“Roml”, a dog in Gratwein-Straßengel, had not appeared for several hours. The search had a happy ending just in time for sunrise on Saturday. The fire service used a drone live stream for the first time.
The last time the owner saw his two-year-old hunting terrier “Roml” was on Saturday morning in St. Pankrazen-Gschnaidt in Gratwein-Straßengel, since then he had been swallowed by the earth. In the afternoon he picked up the phone and asked the fire brigade to search for the dog with a drone.
Drone followed Jagdterrier
Coincidentally, the Stiwoll Fire Department held a drone exercise in the morning, which turned into an operation in the afternoon. With a self-made live stream, the Jagdterrier’s search could be followed simultaneously on the screen – and also tested with a positive result for the first time: “Roml” was tracked down unharmed before nightfall!
The relief and joy of both the animal and the owner was enormous!
