The price of electricity on the wholesale market rose by almost 28% this Friday to EUR 207.77 per megawatt hour (Euro/MWh), the highest price in the past eight days.
After this increase, the second in a row, the price of electricity has almost tripled compared to a year ago (EUR 74.41), and is again 1% above the figures of February 24, when the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
In the first 22 days of April, the electricity price reaches an average of 191.13 euros/MWh, more than 32% below the value of March, the most expensive month in history at 283.3 euros/MWh, although it is almost doubling the average price of 2021 (111.4 euros/MWh), the highest since the existence of records.
