The exports of the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) set their all-time record in 2022 with a total value of 32,538 million euros, 26.8% more than last year, as reported today by the Basque Statistical Institute (Eustat).
The previous figure stood at 25,788 million in 2018, representing an increase of 26.2%.
The export of energy products increased by 108.8% and that of non-energy products by 22.2%.
The main export destinations were Germany (5,000 million), followed closely by France (4,958 million). Behind and further away are the United States (2,258 million), the Netherlands (2,011 million), and the United Kingdom (1,983 million). This group of countries accounts for almost 50% of exports.
Imports also reached the highest value in the historical series, totaling 29,411 million. It is also the highest value in the historical series for imports, followed by 2021, when 21,060 million goods were imported.
