Ukraine’s secret services warned on Sunday that Russia is preparing for execution “large-scale exercises of strategic nuclear forces” as “blackmail” on the eve of US President Joe Biden’s visit to Poland.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR) has announced that it has confirmed this Moscow is preparing elements of its nuclear forces to perform maneuvers involving the launching of ballistic and cruise missiles.
According to the Ukrainian secret services, the decision to carry out these maneuvers is part of an attempt to do so “interfering” with Biden’s European visitwhich will land in Warsaw this Monday on a voyage that coincides with the first anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Moscow’s strategy involves using the “direct nuclear blackmail” for weakening international support for Ukrainehave concluded.
