In Vienna-Favoriten there was a terrible case of domestic violence on Sunday. A 34-year-old man attacked his wife first and then a baby.
When an argument between the two escalated, the 34-year-old punched and strangled the woman, police said. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the suspect suddenly lunged at the woman’s baby and hit her on the head. The woman fled the house with her child. Observant witnesses immediately alerted the emergency services after noticing the loud argument and the fleeing woman.

When the police arrived at the apartment, the suspect was apprehended and an entry and approach ban was imposed. He refused to testify and was released after consultation with the prosecutor on suspicion of bodily harm. The woman and her child have been taken to hospital for further examination.
