A stranger tried to lure at least two young students into his van using various tricks. The police are expanding their presence and a connection to the incidents in Mistelbach and Ernstbrunn cannot be ruled out.
There is currently a lot of excitement on the quiet Straß in the Krems district. A stranger is said to have tried several tricks at the bus stop near the primary school last week to lure two children into his car. He had promised a seven-year-old a new Playstation and 500 euros if he got into his white van. On the other hand, he told a nine-year-old that her father was in the hospital and he had to pick her up. Both children responded correctly and ran away. The girl immediately notified a teacher, who in turn informed the parents.
Connection to Mistelbach?
The police are taking the incident very seriously, not least because the children have been approached independently. Whether there is a connection with a man’s attempts to lure him into Mistelbach and Ernstbrunn must first be clarified. The boy has already shown the identikit that was made after incidents in the Weinviertel. There is a strong resemblance, he says. The executive branch has announced an increased patrol and the state criminal investigation department is also involved. Principals of neighboring schools have told parents to be careful when discussing the matter with their children. “I don’t want to alarm you too much, but you certainly don’t need to be careful,” said one of the letters.
“I Just Wanted To Be Nice”
However, the alleged “feeding action” in Traismauer in the St. Pölten district could be clarified. There, in the presence of the mother, a man had given a child a surprise egg because it had been so tasty while shopping. The man later went to the police himself, claiming it was just a nice gesture. At least this one case is closed for the police.
