Salzburg’s professional fire brigade had to turn out for a demanding operation on Wednesday night. Three parked cars caught fire in front of a workshop in the Schallmoos district. It was necessary to prevent it from spreading to the roof structure.
When firefighters from the nearby Schallmoos fire station arrived on Roittnerstrasse around 11:15 p.m., the cars were already ablaze. With the help of heavy respiratory protection and two sprinklers, the firefighters extinguished the fire.
The emergency services were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the roof construction of the workshop where the cars were parked. Fire investigators must now determine whether the cause of the fire was a technical defect or arson. Fortunately, there were no injuries in the incident.
