26th Restaurant Week – Eat cheaply all over Austria in the award-winning restaurant

The Restaurant Week, Austria’s largest culinary event, is taking place for the 26th time this year and has cause for celebration: because the culinary highlight will take place for the first time in the whole of Austria. From 6 to 12 March, restaurants all over the country invite you to discover Austria’s top gastronomy under the motto “Gastronomic food at a bargain price”. But you have to be quick, because the reservations have been pouring in since the beginning of the week, the organizers say.

For more than a quarter of a century, visitors to Restaurant Week have been able to enjoy culinary delights in the best restaurants at a fixed price. And because Vienna is not the only federal state with excellent restaurants, taverns and traditional dining rooms, the culinary event is now celebrating its Austrian premiere. In total, this year from March 6 to 12, a total of 52 award-winning restaurants across Austria will participate, with a total of 92 chef’s hats. Only in the state of Vorarlberg there is no participating restaurant, which is high season, explains organizer Dominik Holter from Restaurantwoche.

Expansion to all of Austria for Toni Mörwald “really great”
“Culinarius showed how the theme of restaurant week can also be used to appeal to guests who may not yet be so familiar with going to a restaurant. A lot has been set in motion here and I think the expansion to the whole of Austria is really great. Congratulations Culinary! I look forward to restaurant week, which will soon have more participants. This is how we stand strong together,” says award-winning chef Toni Mörwald.

“It was immediately clear to us as a team that we wanted to be there. It is an optimal opportunity to raise our awareness beyond the borders of the Salzburger Land. The restaurant opened in 2019, so this is particularly important now,” Denise Premm of the Goldader Salzburg restaurant is also fully convinced of the restaurant weeks.

“It has been a long time since this successful concept left Vienna. There is tremendous encouragement and it is very important to motivate people to go out and have fun after such a long time. That is the most important thing of all and we are all the more pleased that we are now in the Länder,” emphasizes Mario Pulker, Head of the Gastronomy Department.

Good food throughout Austria from 19.50 euros
One thing is certain: visitors can once again look forward to exceptionally cozy and creative menus this year. Whether classic Austrian or international – there is something for everyone. A 2-course lunch menu is available from EUR 19.50, the 3-course dinner from EUR 39.50. The restaurant week reflects the diversity of the kitchen: table reservations have been possible online since February 21 and reservations have been pouring in ever since.

In this special year, the 4-toque restaurant Berggericht and eight 3-toque restaurants, including the &flora and the Freyenstein, participate. There are 21 excellent restaurants to choose from under the 2-chef restaurants, including the Pichlmaiers zum Herkner, the Sakai, the Hansen, the Buxbaum and, for the first time, the Meixners Gastwirtschaft. Gourmets can choose from a total of 22 1-toque restaurants, such as the Buxus and the Huth Da Moritz. The list of participating restaurants is constantly expanding and all participating restaurants are listed on the website.
