A 13-year-old committed two crimes in central Vienna on Sunday evening and was caught in both cases. First he and two accomplices attacked an 18-year-old, hours later it turned out to be an attempt. The minor was taken to a crisis center twice.
Shortly before 11 p.m., he and two accomplices attacked an 18-year-old on Franz-Josefs-Kai. A robber would have had a knife in his hand and a perpetrator would have hit the victim in the face with his fist, police spokesman Daniel Fürst reported on Monday. The trio stole a shoulder bag, cash, passport and cell phone.
The robbers fled in the direction of Schwedenplatz. Police caught the 13-year-old Syrian citizen in the area shortly after at a fast food restaurant. The boy had the 18-year-old’s mobile phone and a knife with him. Officials handed the child over to a crisis center in the city.
Toy gun held to the head
But the 13-year-old was caught again at 5:15 a.m. at a nearby bar after threatening a man with a gun on the stairs. It was assumed that he also wanted to rob this man. The officers found a toy gun with the boy, which he must have held to the stranger’s head, a small amount of cannabis and a stolen debit card that did not belong to the first robber.
The minor was again taken to a crisis center. The victim in the second case was not initially found.
