The Linz Kepler University is in shock! On Tuesday around noon, a university professor in front of the Science Park was attacked by a man with a hammer and seriously injured. The perpetrator was arrested shortly afterwards.
On Tuesday around noon, the Linz police were sent to Altenbergerstrasse because someone had been injured in the park there. It soon became clear that it was a violent crime. A 39-year-old from Linz went after a 56-year-old university professor after he left the building there. Suddenly he grabbed a hammer and hit it from behind on the head and upper body.

The suspect then dropped the hammer and fled on foot. Due to a direct and intensive search by various police patrols, the fugitive was quickly stopped and arrested. The rescue operation took the 56-year-old seriously injured to the hospital. The arrested person was transferred for questioning to the police detention center in Linz and then to the prison’s forensic department.
