After a weapons depot was excavated in a courtyard in Ruden near the Völkermarkt in Carinthia, more and more details came to light.
Were they just gun freaks or was there more to it? The weapons depot of two Britons and a Styrian (29) who moved to Kleindiex near Ruden in January remains a mystery. Although three people have reportedly been arrested, the investigation continues at full speed.
“One and a half kilograms of explosives”
“All weapons and equipment have now been assessed. It involves 31 long guns, 17 small arms, several silencers, one and a half kilograms of explosives, two practice hand grenades, several acids and black powder and a firearm disguised as a walking stick,” said Rainer Dionisio of the state police headquarters.
The search has now been completed, but the motive is still completely unclear. “In any case, Section 175, preparing a crime using explosives, is currently a criminal offense for us,” said prosecutor Markus Kitz.
However, the residents were already in the crosshairs of the authorities before the weapons were found: “There was a complaint about the garbage that had accumulated in the affected courtyard. There is also a lawsuit here.” The excavated illegal arms depot in Kleindiex is still the number one topic of conversation in the Ruden community. However, the people who live there have always been friendly and helpful to the residents.
