Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has again been accused of nepotism. His father’s name appears in the traditional “resignation honour” that allows government leaders to honor deserving personalities after their departure.
The conservative politician wanted his father Stanley Johnson (82) to be honored with the title ‘Sir’, the Times newspaper reported on Monday. The former MEP is one of about 100 people on Johnson’s list. The Times criticized the plans as morally wrong. Culture Secretary Michelle Donelan, on the other hand, was relaxed. There are much bigger problems, she told broadcaster LBC.
Other personal details can also cause excitement. According to the Times, Johnson wants to appoint four sitting Conservative MPs, including his confidante Nadine Dorries, as life members of the House of Lords.
