An explosion at a five-storey building in Bangladesh on Tuesday killed at least 15 people and injured dozens more. According to the police, there were no indications of a terrorist attack, at least for the time being.

The explosion also damaged two adjacent buildings. Some pedestrians were injured by falling debris and broken glass, it said. The rescue work continued into the evening. Footage from local TV channel Channel 24 showed rescuers using lights to search the rubble for survivors.
The chief of Dhaka Medical College Hospital said nearly 200 injured people had been taken to his hospital.
