The re-elected French president also winked to the left with messages in favor of ecology.

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, this Sunday celebrated with his followers the victory in the second round of presidential electionsafter which he promised to be “everybody’s president” and even take into account the “anger” he believes is hidden behind the vote for his rival, the far-right Marine Le Pen.

On the Champs de Mars, with the Eiffel Tower as the backdrop, Macron gave his first public words after knowing he was the winner of a trial that has, however, led to an unprecedented level of support for the far right, above 40 percent.

Looking back, he remembered the “painful” and “difficult” moments of five years of “transformation” and, looking to the future, he wanted to make it clear that this new phase will not be just a “continuity”.

“We have a lot to do. The war in Ukraine is there to remind us that we are going through tragic times when France needs to show the clarity of its voice and develop its strength in all areas,” he stressed.

Macron has thanked the supporters and militants of La República and Marcha and has also had words for those who voted for him, only to “block” the far right, as well as those who abstained. He has promised to “respond” to this “silence” as well.

He has also reached out to Le Pen voters, assuming there must also be a response on their part to “the anger and disagreements” that have led millions of French people to vote for the National Grouping.
