A 22-year-old German kept the police busy in Matrei in Osttirol on Thursday evening. After the suspect and a compatriot (25) were targeted for drugs and apprehended outside a bar, he apparently wanted to swallow a bag of cocaine while talking to his lawyer on the phone. Despite massive resistance, the officials were just able to prevent this.
The two suspects were interrogated on Thursday evening on suspicion of committing a crime under the Narcotics Act. The duo were eventually apprehended around 8 p.m. near a bar in Matrei. “When the 22-year-old was searched, a bag containing about 10 grams of cocaine was found,” the researchers said.
Then things got turbulent: “During the telephone conversation with his lawyer, the German suddenly threw himself on the bag and put it in his mouth to swallow it,” the director continued. However, the officials could have prevented this by “using physical force”.
Kicked officials
But that’s not all: the suspect fought fiercely and kicked the officers. As a result, he was handcuffed. “Two police officers were slightly injured when the man resisted, the German was unharmed.
