Second “White House” – Viennese Saudi sheik sells luxury palace

Date:

The ambassador of Austria is in financial difficulties: the most expensive house in the world is for sale. Accordingly, a megaloan for a private jet guaranteed by the mansion was due unpaid.

The impressive building “The Holme” in London’s Regent’s Park – idyllically situated on a lake – has a history of 205 years and is also called the second “White House” because of its construction. On a gigantic floor space of 2700 square meters, it offers 40 bedrooms, a library, tennis courts, sauna and eight garages for a proud fleet of vehicles.

The most expensive house in the world is for sale
The luxurious palace is owned by a member of Saudi Arabia’s ruling House of Saud, Abdullah bin Khalid bin Sultan, his country’s ambassador and United Nations Permanent Representative to Austria. Now “The Holme” is breaking all records: because the most expensive house in the world is currently for sale for an equally gigantic price of almost 286 million euros! The size and location should justify the price.

Private jet mega loan has expired unpaid
According to research by the well-known British Times, the Viennese sheikh would have money problems. Accordingly, a megaloan for a private jet guaranteed by the mansion was due unpaid. The creditors would have hired a trustee to put the property on the market and thus recover the borrowed assets.

Sanctions in Russia cause the housing market to collapse
However, the question is whether the mansion is worth the money. Since the British government also imposed sanctions on Russian oligarchs, demand in the higher luxury segment has fallen significantly. Incidentally, the most expensive property in the world to date was a three-story penthouse in New York’s Central Park that was sold for 252 million euros last September.
