The famous Holocaust memorial in Berlin was damaged in a traffic accident on Tuesday evening. A driver fleeing from the police crashed his vehicle with great force against a low block of the monument.
According to the police, the car had a license plate that did not match the vehicle. But the driver tried to evade the inspection and sped away instead of submitting to a check by police officers.
The suspects tried to escape on foot
During the escape, the car went off the road and crashed into the Holocaust memorial. The suspects tried to flee on foot after the accident, but were arrested by the police after a short time.
