British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak (42) came into contact with the police again. A TikTok video showed the Prime Minister’s dog off-leash in London’s Hyde Park – despite signs requiring it to be so. Sunak’s family was “reminded of the rules” by an officer, the Metropolitan Police said afterwards. “The dog was leashed again.”
The prime minister was not sentenced, British media report on Wednesday. In Hyde Park around Serpentine Lake, dogs must be kept on a lead so as not to disturb ducks and other wildlife.
Family has a Labrador since 2021
Sunak’s spokesperson declined to comment on the incident. It is not clear when the video was made. As of June 2021, Sunak’s family has a labrador named Nova.
Not wearing a seatbelt: Sunak had to pay a fine
It is not the first time that Sunak has had problems with the police. A few weeks ago, he was fined for sitting in the back seat of his limousine without a seatbelt, according to a video shared by Sunak himself.
In the ‘Partygate’ affair about illegal lockdown celebrations in Downing Street, Sunak – then Chancellor of the Exchequer – had to pay a fine for breaking the Corona rules.
