Donald Trump has taken to Facebook with a 2016 election victory video. The ex-president wrote under it: “I’m back!” The largest online network in the world let him back on the platform at the end of January.
The 76 year old wants to win the Republican nomination for the 2024 presidential election. He was banned from major online platforms at the end of his tenure after his supporters stormed the Capitol in Washington on January 6, 2021.
The return to social media
The right-wing populist politician now has access to all major online services again. The video platform YouTube lifted restrictions on Trump’s account on Friday. On Twitter, his account was reactivated last fall by new owner Elon Musk. On Friday, however, the last tweet was still there from January 2021.
