In the ski areas in Carinthia, 27 employees were not registered. The financial police immediately uncovered several violations.
In three Carinthian winter sports areas, the financial police were able to track down a total of 27 illegal workers. This happened on the Hebalm (Koralpe), on the Klippitztörl and on the Hochrindl. The men and women were registered as unemployed on paper and received unemployment benefits, but according to the financial police they were apparently employed.
Nine violations have been identified with regard to fiscal supervision measures. A tax arrears of 10,550 euros were also submitted.
Violations in the ski lodge and during chalet operations
At a club ski lodge, the club president has only had an estimate of sales since December 2022. No records were kept and the money was not counted regularly. A large chalet operator has also been arrested.
“One of the operating company commissioners who happened to be present reacted immediately and initiated corrective actions in an online conference hastily convened on site,” the researchers said. Treasury Secretary Magnus Brunner concludes: “The five black sheep must now reckon with noticeable fines.”
