An hour-long CPR brought a 71-year-old driver back to life. On Sunday afternoon, he caused an accident near Habersdorf (Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district) in Styria due to a medical emergency. His wife witnessed it all from the passenger seat.
The 70-year-old woman was in the passenger seat and had to keep an eye on everything! Her husband (71) was driving his car on Safentalstrasse near Habersdorf on Sunday afternoon when he suddenly lost control of the wheel. The car left the roadway and then crashed into an empty and unused building.
Resuscitated for an hour
Fortunately, witnesses were present who immediately alerted the rescue service and helped the slightly injured 70-year-old out of the car through the tailgate.
Her husband, however, lay lifeless behind the wheel. Due to a medical emergency, he was no longer able to drive the car. He too had to be freed through the tailgate. An hour-long CPR by the emergency physician followed – the man was resuscitated and taken to hospital. However, his life is still in imminent danger!
