The German government announced on Tuesday that it will supply “Gepard” battle tanks with anti-aircraft guns to Ukraine.
Christine Lambert Germany’s defense minister has in recent weeks criticized Berlin for not supplying heavy weapons to Ukraine and described the decision to send these ‘Gepard’ main battle tanks as progress.
Moreover, he has said that Moscow’s actions in Ukraine imply that Russia has “stepped out of the circle of civilized nations”.
Lambrecht has said in statements to the press that “if Ukraine urgently needs anti-aircraft defense systems, Germany is ready to lend support”. “We will explore ways to continue to support Ukraine,” he said.
He has also indicated that Ukrainian soldiers will receive training on German soil on the use of artillery systemsaccording to the German news agency DPA.

Get rid of Russian oil in a few days
On the other hand, the German Minister of Economic Affairs, Robert Habeckhas pointed out that Germany can run without Russian oil in a few days.
“Today I can say that an embargo (on oil) for Germany has become manageable,” acknowledged the economy minister in the Polish capital Warsaw, after meeting Poland’s environment minister, Anna Moskwa.
There, Habeck explained that the independence of Russian supplies has already been achieved to some extent, as it rose from 35% before the war, at the end of February, to 12% today, just eight weeks later.
