A zebra recently went exploring in the South Korean capital of Seoul. “Sero” escaped from a zoo and galloped through the streets. The animal made its way through traffic and rummaged through rubbish bins, as can be seen in a video from the AFP news agency (see below).
The three-year-old zebra seemed to be enjoying his newfound freedom and looking curiously at the housing projects. He particularly liked the rubbish bins on the side of the road. However, “Sero” was not exactly on his journey. So he stopped to think about which way to go. No wonder, because the exotic “tourist” actually lives in the zoo “Children’s Grand Park”.
Drugged and taken to the zoo
There it went again after a few hours. Helpers took advantage of the zebra’s lack of planning and fired a tranquilizer dart at the animal. It then fell unconscious, was caught in a net and carried on the back of a truck with a tarpaulin. Meanwhile, “Sero” is safe again in his zoo in Seoul.
His outing went viral on social media and spawned thousands of memes. According to the zoo, the animal became rebellious after the death of its parents, including fighting a kangaroo in the past.
